What a year this has been. I began the year with a little blog that had near zero visits and absolutely zero comments for almost 6 months, then something happened and people began to embrace the ramblings they found here. My stats tell me I ended the year with 28,000 views. Thank you all so much for embracing me this way.

I don’t know what it was about the quote above that reminded me of New Year’s Resolutions, but it did.
What I think of as the Christmas holiday is over, and it’s back to regular days for me, something I am happy to have. I am enjoying the normalcy of the day but want to share a problem I ran into last night.
I can’t believe Friday is here already, this week flew by so quickly.
Today is also my 50th birthday. I took a moment to really look at myself in the mirror today, I don’t feel 50 and when I took a careful study of how the years have affected me I didn’t see 50 staring back at me. It’s been a roller coaster of a life so far and I hope it continues, maybe with less drama than in past years.
When I was younger I thought 40 was old, women by that age went to the beauty parlor and had their weekly shampoo set, with tons of teasing. They always looked so much older than they actually were. I’m so glad that phase is on it’s way out as my generation is more relaxed about our hair.
Well, enough about me it’s time for my favorites of the week.
Christmas was a very relaxing and enjoyable day for all this year at our place. My ex arrived Sunday and joined us in watching the Steeler game, our son arrived Christmas Eve to join us in a simple meal of cold sandwiches, fruit and yogurt for the little one.
This will be my last post until after Christmas. So I wanted to wish you all a Merry Christmas.
It’s the wee hours of Thursday night or Friday morning, whichever works for you. The weather here has changed drastically and I’m watching out my window for the freezing rain (it’s been raining pretty steady for 2 days now) to change into snow. by the end of today (Friday) we are expecting in the range of 14 inches of the white stuff with not much of a break from it till after Christmas. So it looks like I will have my white Christmas after all.
Because it’s Friday, it’s time for me to share with you some of my favorite posts of the week.
A while back I took on a challenge set by Courtney at Be More with Less. This was called the Reverse 100 Thing Challenge. Rather than adopting some people’s challenge to live with 100 things, (of which there are many exceptions to the 100 things you can have and not count…Huh?) this was a challenge to eliminate 100 things from your home by December 15th. Yep, I’m a little late again in actually sitting down to see how I did.
